It's the perfect introduction for those working towards a career with animals or for those with a passion for animals.
There are different Ranger Academys for different ages, one for 14 - 18 year olds and new for this year is the Junior Ranger Academy for 11 - 13 year olds and the Ranger Academy Exploration for adults.
This Summer Special has plenty of hands-on experience in a small group to ensure focused learning. Two of our expert keepers will teach you a range of skills from handling techniques to making the animals some fun enrichment.

Ranger Academy (14-18 years) 7th - 9th August
Over the course of 3 days, you will be working alongside our keepers to assist them with caring for our animals. You can expect to be involved with cleaning out enclosures and creating enrichment, as well as gaining theoretical knowledge. It's the perfect introduction for those who are interested in working towards a career with animals or for those who are passionate about animals.

The Ranger Academy is a 3 day course running from 9am to 3pm from Wednesday to Friday. It includes a daily snack but you will need to bring a packed lunch.

Junior Ranger Academy (11-13 years) 12th - 13th August
Junior Ranger Academy is ideal for children who are aged from 11 to 13. You can expect to assist keepers in the day-to-day care of our animals, as well as participating in a range of practical learning activities over this 2-day period.
The Ranger Academy is a 2 day course running from 9am to 1pm on Monday and Tuesday. It includes a daily snack but you will need to bring a packed lunch.

Whether you are interested in a career change or simply want to see what it's like to work with animals, you can conquer your fears over the two-day period of Ranger Academy: Exploration.
This summer, our keepers will introduce you to caring for our exotic species so expect to work with a variety of our animals from our meerkats and six-banded armadillos, to sulcata tortoises and snakes!

The Ranger Academy is a 2 day course running from 9am to 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday and includes a hot drink. You will need to bring a packed lunch or you can purchase refreshments at our catering outlets.
